Tokyo Subway Navigation for Tourists is a free application officially provided by Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd to enable users to search transfer information for the Tokyo Subway system (Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway).
This application supports English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Korean, Thai, French, Spanish and Japanese. It is highly recommended for visitors sight-seeing in Tokyo.
By simply touching the station names on the map, you can easily search for a route, or instead you can select your arrival and departure stations by using the landmark search functionality to search for the name of tourist spots such as Tokyo Tower or Senso-ji Temple or for the name of popular hotels. This application displays the main route, time required, and fares in a simple easy to understand format. Also because the application allows you to find the closest exit to landmarks near the station, you can stop worrying about navigating the huge number of subway exits, and simply relax and enjoy using the subway to sightsee around Tokyo. You can also use the application to check which stations offer a free Wi-Fi service.

・The search is based on the average ride time. Times may vary from the actual timetable so please keep this in mind when using the service.
・The fare displayed is the fare to ride the train if you purchase a ticket. If you are using an IC Card, please check the fare.

The App does what it should. The problem is that it doesnt contain JR Lines and a Yokohama or Chiba railmap. Thats why the benefit is limited.

Best App for Tokyos Metro Subways and Toei Subways. This was one of the two Apps I have used, when I visited Tokyo in dec 14 for six days. This app works offline, the suggested routes are good, the calculated price for the route is correct, and the estimated time for your routes are quite possible, maybe not if you use Tokyos subways the first time of your life, hehe. Doesnt work with Japan Rail. I recommend the the 3-day-passes of the Metro and the Toei Lines, the Tickets are specially offered to Tourists, and they are cheaper than other passes.

Its the perfect app for every tourist who wants to move fast and precisely in Tokyo using the tube. Easy to use, with the search engine of the major hotels and attractions, help you saving time. Its a must have. Of course works perfect too.

Some bad moments

Love this app. It got us through the Tokyo subway system without a hitch. Very easy to use, and works offline.

This app is well designed and works well BUT it only shows the subway lines, if you are a tourist and want to go to a location that is accessed by an above ground train, this app will be useless.

This app is very useful for tourist, easy to use and you can use it in OFFLINE mode thats very cool!!!!

Whats so difficult to have a realtime search? You expect foreigner to spell Japanese station name exactly right? Serious? Not worth any star more than 3...

Spent 4-days in Tokyo July 2015. Used the app whenever on subway, which was several times a day. App was 100% accurate! Never lost or wrong train. Wish I had something similar on trips to Europe where i took several wrong trains.
